Paper Inspirations Exhibition in Amsterdam
poster of the art exhibition Paper inspirations, Amsterdam
August has just begun and many people are on vacation. My vacation was early in the season due to my upcoming exhibition in Amsterdam from August 12 to 30.
The exhibition, Paper Inspirations, is a group exhibition of members of the Dutch Association for Papercutting. It’s a centuries-old artform that I and 6 other members are giving a contemporary twist to. I will mainly be showing my Tapestries and prints, along with a few original cut-out pieces. For me, the paper cut-outs I make have actually always been my basic material from which I create my illustrations, artworks, and patterns (digitally). Although I am increasingly producing original cut-out work as well, especially now that I have managed to get my hands on some beautiful orange neon paper. That paper is so cool that I love using it as a finished product. I will be showing 16 works at this exhibition. I recently made some green cyanotype prints with paper cutouts, with is a great way to use these paper bits and pieces! There will be 4 of them on show.
Sale exhibition
Almost all the works are for sale, and in addition, there are small products for sale such as my cards, necklace pendants, art prints, and other small accessories. If you happen to be in the area or are coming to visit the exhibition specifically, I will post on my Instagram when I will be there myself.
Alongside my own work, there is of course also beautiful and diverse work, both 2D and 3D, by my fellow members. With nearly 100 works, it is a very interesting exhibition to admire or even purchase artwork.
