Paper Inspirations at KunstRuim Amsterdam in full swing
My fun wall at the galerie Kunstruim (Sabeth Elberse Studio)
The exhibition by the Guild of Papercutting at KunstRUIM has been running for two weeks now, and with great success! There is one week left to admire and purchase my work and that of 8 fellow artists. I have already had to restock a number of works due to successful sales. Tapestries, pouches, bronze foil prints, and the cyanotype prints have sold well. It gives a huge boost, I can tell you.
Staying Positive
Sales on Etsy seem to have collapsed, sales to America have stopped (tariffs), and with the new, expensive packaging law in the EU that is killing off all small independent businesses (because It will turn out to be very expensive), AI steeling work, it is difficult to make a living as an artist right now.
Talking about work
Additionally to the exhibition, (I work alone a lot) meeting people in the Gallery, talking about my work process and my ideas is very motivating and fun. It is good practice for me to tell about my work and process. You know, the way I work, for me, it’s so clear. But I notice that people who are not making art or have a different approach, It is not that clear. This is a great way for me to talk about my work and answering the questions people have.
If you happen to be in Amsterdam this week, come in and say hello.
