New work and an exposition in Utrecht!

exhibition at Life’s a Peach in Utrecht where you can get a great coffee and delicious Italian baked goods

New pendant designs

Not so long ago, I had three designs printed on wood. A small (well, not so small) 7.5 cm pendant. I really wanted to make some jewelry, and being this nice and big, they are definitely statement pieces, and I love that. Besides being super beautiful as a necklace, they are also little works of art that you hang on the wall with a simple nail. That works so well too! Anyway, 5 new designs have been added! Some illustrations are so beautiful that I want to show them as a necklace or as a small, unique piece of art. For myself, but also for others: a unique necklace (that people always comment on) or as a small work of art on the wall.

My work in an Exhibition In Utrecht

In the city of Utrecht, there is a lovely little coffee shop with beautiful coffee and vegan treats from Italy. The name is: Life's a Peach, on Hardebollenstraat. The owner really wants to give artists from Utrecht a place to fill the spacious walls. And there, on the orange/pink wall, hang my tapestries, framed illustrations, and original paper cutouts. Available to view and purchase until at least mid-June, and possibly longer. Especially for this exhibition, I cut out two large neon-colored apples. I am a big fan of neon paper, and lately, apples and pears have been the subject of my illustrations. Sometimes the simplest shapes are the most intriguing.

New Papercuts and prints

The computer is an important player in my design process. I always start by cutting, so that is done manually, but after scanning, I continue working on the computer. So, to spend less time on it, I made more time for just papercuts, to create something without a plan or end goal. To practice and have fun. Eventually, they did end up in a frame again, because I think they are beautiful.

And finally, two new prints. I found fabulous orange (pumpkin) and pink (blossom) paper at my printer and wanted to try them out. They can print white ink on this paper, which is fantastic. So, another papercut based illustration on A4 paper.
