All good news!, represented by an agency and new work.

I am with Illustrate -It Agency

It's been quiet on the newsletter front for a while (I'm not a very regular writer, hence the name "not so often newsletter"), but a lot has happened on the design front which I do need to share with you.

The big news: I'm now represented by an illustration agent, Mel from ILLUSTRATE-IT AGENCY! I'm naturally thrilled and very proud of this. It's a huge boost to have someone behind you who's passionate about your work, sees your unique style, appreciates it, and then pitches it to clients in the home decor, stationery, greetings, gift market, apparel, and lots more. How exciting will it be to see my designs appear on products sold in stores worldwide! Mel started, next to her agency, the Talent Tap, a great way to look for artists. The Talent Tap is a series of weekly assignments where you have one week to create three or four designs/patterns  based on the assignment. After three weeks, a shortlist of 10 designers was drawn up, and I was one of them! After that, there was an additional assignment. Of the 10 shortlisted artists, 2or 3 were selected. They are now represented by Illustrate-it Agency, and I'm one of them!

I am looking forward to this collaboration. Mel is very confident and an enthusiastic mentor for me and my fellow artists from her agency. The agency is located in England, and Mel represents several artists from around the world. My current goal is to present /reorganise as much work as possible so she can pitch and promote my work, create new work that aligns with what clients are looking for, and continue to develop myself. I'm so looking forward to this next  chapter!  You can have a look at me and the other artists at the artist page on the website with a selection of their work.

Besides this great news, I’m working on my favorite e-course: Lettering Bootcamp by Lilla Rogers, "Make art that sells”. It’s 3 months (now is the last one) and each month you receive a (fictional) assignment to add to your portfolio. At the beginning of the month, you receive mini-assignments to practice fonts, followed by the actual assignment. Month 1 was soap packaging, Month 2 was a bookcover, and Month 3 will be a mural for an optician's shop. That's what I'm focusing on at the moment, and it's quite different from the other assignments. You’ll have to think big! My work with bold colors really suits such an assignment, so I'm already busy sketching and cutting paper. Today I'll be working on it. I'll show the final result in the next newsletter.

To finish this newsletter, I will show some new products in my Etsyshop! I love a red apple on the wall, don’t you? and finally, some original papercut artwork framed in my etsshop as weel
